Saskatoon Amateur Softball Annual General Meeting-September 22nd 2008
The 2008 Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association Annual General Meeting will be on Monday, September 22nd in the Riel Room at the Ramada Hotel starting at 7;30pm. All Coaches are to attend this meeting . For further information please contact Bryan Kosteroski at kosteroskib@agcouncil.ca

3 Saskatoon Teams win Canadian Championships
in 2008

Congratulations to the Saskatoon Midget Selects AA Team for wiining the Softball Canada Midget Boys Canadian Championships in Brantford Ontario.The Midget Selects went undefeated throughout the Championship. The following players were named to the 2008 Midget Boys All Star Team

Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association Announces new Program -Posted Friday Augu
The Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association is very happy to announce the development of the U of S Ladies Softball Team who will participate in the Alberta Intercollegiate Women’s Fastball League as a 1st year entry team for the 2008 Season

The teams participating in this league will be:
University of Alberta Golds
University of Alberta Greens
University of Lethbridge
University of Calgary
Mount Royal College
Red Deer College
Southern Alberta Institute of Technology
University of Regina
new participant - Ladies U of S Softball

This new program will provide opportunities for ladies who are attending the University of Saskatchewan ( minimum 3 classes)to play Softball throughout the Fall.

The Management Team for the U of S Softball program consists of :

The Lady U of S Softball Team will play on Weekends only throughout September & October. The Lady U of S Team will attend the National Intercollegiate Softball Championships in Calgary on the Thanksgiving Long Weekend.League games will be played at Bob Van Impe Stadium. Please watch for details

Division 2 & 3 Ladies League Playoffs -Posted August 14th 2008 - UPDATE
The Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association Division 2 Ladies Playoffs wlll begin on Monbday August 11th at Bob Van Impe Stadium & Gordie Howe Park.The top 4 teams with the best winning percentages were selected and ranked into the playoff format.
The winners of each series move on to the Division 2 Ladies Championships series which will also be a best of 3 series.

Provincial Champions
Congratulations also goes out to the National Leasing Diamond Dogs (Delisle) for their Silver medal finish at the Senior B Western Canadian Championship held in Brandon. They lost a tough one to Regina in the Gold medal game.

Add Hanley Merchants to the list of Provincial Champions from our association. They
clinched the Intermediate "A" championship down in Moose Jaw by defeating the Moose Jaw Canadians the weekend of Aug 25-27. Congratulations

We would like to congratulate teams from the SASA who were successful in the recent past at provincial championships.
In the Masters division - the Saskatoon Allied Denture Clinic Masters captured their 22nd consecutive championship and will attend Westerns in Pilot Butte August 1st to August 4th. They are defending champions and we wish them well.
Also winning in the Masters ladies division was the Saskatoon Connexion who will also compete in Pilot Butte. Good luck ladies.
SASA hosted the intermediate men and women’s provincials the weekend of July 18 to 20th and Saskatoon Ramada Padres came out on top in the men’s division defeating KW Homes, also of Saskatoon in the final.
In Midget B Boys Saskatoon Mathieu Selects were victorious and will attend Westerns in Winnipeg, also August 1 - 4.
Junior B women’s champions were Saskatoon Mano’s Riot with the Junior Lady Diamonbacks finishing second. There is no western this year.
In Junior A ladies, Saskatoon Outlaws were champions and will attend Nationals Aug 3 - 10 in Summerside PEI.
Senior A men’s provincials were just held with Aspen Interiors coming out on top, going through the tournament undefeated. Saskatoon Poly Plus Diamonbacks were second and Bruno Merchants third. All three teams will compete at Senior A Nationals being held right here in Saskatoon, August 24th to 31st.
